The main viewers of the blog are the people who are interested in marketing and intercultural communication, like students, marketers, etc. Also, the blog is one

of the tool that Cindy used to show her profession and get clients, so the bosses of different business are the main target readers. We can know that in the web page of FAQ. More importantly, her main targeted viewers are Internet users. Otherwise, she can deliver nothing through Internet and blog.

6. Motivation behin

d the creation of the blog

This blog is a place where Cindy can share how to develop cultural and international skills for international marketing. She can also express her own view about international marketing and intercultural communication. What is more, people all over the world can read her blog in Internet, so that she can promote her profession and ideas. She will get more international clients if there are more and more people read her blog, agree with her view and pay attention to her. It is a way of pull marketing, which can help Cindy promoting herself with low cost.

On the other hand, it is good to use blog as a sharing channel because people all over the world an access and read it easily. There is no national boundary in the world of Internet. People can leave their comments, share and communicate with Cindy directly and quickly. It is a convenient, interactive and immediate channel for people to communicate.

7. Succeeds of the blog in promoting creativity and innovation

The blog is able to facilitate creativity and innovation. First of all, it gives 8 tips ab

out the intercultural communication. The blog has mentioned an innovative idea – Trust in intercultural communicati

on. We need to first be trustworthy before we build trust in others. So we can have trust-building relationship a

mong different parties. Also, we need to learn to communicate with oth

ers that have different cultural values. We shouldn’t fear aggression because of the cross-cultur

al difference. It focuses on the importance of “trust”. This idea is usually ignored by many people. But it is an innovative idea.

Second, in terms of creativity, the writer chooses to use blog rather than textbooks as distributio

n channels. The readers can give the feedbacks immediately. It is a two-way channel that allows the writer and the reader to communicate effectively. Moreover, the reader can share different views in the blog. Since the writer updates the blog everyday, it can get a closer relationship with the readers.

Even the blog is mainly talking about business, it is undeniable that intercultural communication is vital for business. This blog can promote creativity and innovation about intercultural communication.

8. Failure of the blog in promoting creativity and innovation

The blog has some rooms to improve in terms of promoting creativity and innovation. Since the blog only mentioned about the cultural difference, it hasn’t explain about the details of the differences such as the culture of different countries. So the reader may only know that they need to improve it. The writer doesn’t provide any practical suggestion for the reader. By adding the practical suggestions, more reader will be benefited.

9. Why like or dislike the blog

The tips of intercultural communication are clear. Author highlights the main points of each tip in red as well as some outlines are provided. It lets viewers understand clearly what she is going to say.

Viewers are allowed t

o sign up their email in order to get further tips. It is useful that author knows what questions viewers will ask and viewers are encouraged to raise their questions through sending email.

Also, there are many links that can link to the author’s other Internet community web site, e.g. Facebook. Readers can know her more if they want to and this can build the relationship between the author and the readers.

However, there are almost no pictures to be included in blog. The whole page of blog is only written by word without intersting pictures and the design of blog is so simplified. If blogger adds some pictures or videos, the blog would be more attractive.

10. Suggestions for improvement

Actually, the blog is great since there are many marketing knowledge and intercultural affairs which is analyzed from different aspects and point of view. But it is a bit boring as there are not many pictures and videos. Also, it is not user-friendly for a reader whose native language is not English. So we suggest Cindy may upload more photos and videos to the blog. It will be more attractive and effective to share the ideas. Communication is not only by languages, but also other methods like body languages and pictures, etc.

Here are some posts that are useful and meaningful for us to read.

A.) http://cindyking.biz/trust-in-cross-cultural-communication-–-tip-16/

This post is talking about the trust is based on honesty. Trust is important for every relationship. And it can make our conversation more effective. Nobody wants to do business with a company they cannot trust. In the same meaning, nobody wants to build a relationship with someone they cannot trust. So this post is meaningful for us to read. If we can do it, we will be a successful person no matter in any aspect.

B.) http://cindyking.biz/trust-in-cross-cultural-communication-–-tip-13/

Trust is partly based on them getting what they expect and what they promised. There are many cultural differences between different nations and different people may use the same words but understand different meanings. So we need to clearly explain what we promised and know their expectation. And the most important is to do what we promised. This post will be useful for us to know more about ‘Promise’.

  1. I appreciate your group name as United Nations. Globalization makes our relationship become closer. It enables us to know more about different culture, learn from the great one and we can be inspired by the culture to be a creative person.

I agree with your group that the writer’s choice of sharing her experience through blog instead of book is a new and creative way. It facilitates two-way channel for communication. With more interaction with the readers, the writers can get the comments efficiently.

However, I do not think trust in intercultural communications in an innovative idea. ‘Innovative’ refers to a new way of doing something according to Wikipedia. Trust is a basic element in order to build good relationship between any people. There is nothing new at all. In fact, I think intercultural communications need mutual respect because people come from different background may have different ways or habit of doing things, argument may occur easily.

Finally, I think the writer can share some more funny creative ideas between different nationalities which she experienced before. This attracts more readers.

  3. Hi~ united nations. Your blog is really colorful. It is a very clear way to introduction yourselves as you put the description besides your pictures. Also, It is a very well organized and clear stated blog.

I have read the blog you recommended. It is very useful for us, not only for studying business and also for the common daily life. I do agree that "trust in intercultural communication". Actually, different culture will have different lifestyle. If people do not trust each others, there may be communication break down due to misunderstanding.

It would be great if there are more attractive and interesting pictures and other medium. And, there are so many theories on the blog. If the author can write theries with more examples, it would be more interesting and easy to understand.

I think your blog is pretty good. If you can add more pictures about the blog you recommended and some videos about intercultural communication, it will be much more attractive.

    Finally, thanks for sharing. =]

  4. It is so great to see all your faces in the first post of the blog and I am glad to hear your own about cultures over the world. I appreciate the meaning behind your group name “United Nations” very much - integrating, recognizing and accepting different cultures. It is so meaningful that accepting variances is very vital in especially in this diversified world. Conflicts can be minimized through understanding and accepting.

I like your little background of your recommended blog and its author. It makes me more easily to understand Cindy’s posts. Yet I think your blog will become more attractive if you change the titles in different colors or make keywords bold or/italic. Also, it would be appreciated if you can suggest a post which is the most interesting or can demonstrate intercultural communication at most in this blog.

I understand vivid presentation of a blog is important and it motivates visitors continue to read. However, I think Cindy’s blog is very fancy with colorful words and columns. And I can see some videos are provided for easier understanding of her articles. Therefore, I have some doubt about your suggestion on adding more pictures and videos in her blog. Or which part of it you think should include?

Finally, thanks for your sharing and hopefully you all can gain a lot about different cultures when writing this blog.

  5. Thank you for sharing =] I like your group name. “United Nations” is very meaningful and creative enough, indeed in this globalized world, intercultural communication is very important.

I do agree with your group that Cindy uses blog as distribution channel is creative, not only like your group mentioned , which encourage the two-way communicate immediately. In my opinion, nowadays internet is commonly used, which also can reach more readers all over the world then textbook. This is also one of the ways to achieve cross cultural communication.

Besides, I also read the blog wrote by Cindy, although she uses English, it is easy to understand. Of course what you suggested with the assistant of photos can present Cindy’s idea easily. I also recommended that she can use diagram or mind-map to present her idea in a more organized way.

However, to certain extend, I go along with what 2411thankful said “trust” is not an innovative idea in intercultural communication, to be honest, every successful communication is based on trust.

  6. Your group name is very impressive for me as the meaning is plain and appropriate. We can observe that intercultural communication is playing a crucial role in this decade. And the reason behind is not difficult to figure it out.Every countries have their own strengths and weakness, how to make use of them to achieve what you want is the key to win the business.

I think the blog that you chose is decent. With Cindy's special background and experiences in this field, she can share lots of situations that she has met and suggest way to get over these obstacle. Also, the pictures that she provided is informative and useful.

However,I'm not so sure that the tips that she gave are achievable or not.For instance,in the recent entry,Cindy discussed about building trust. In my point of view, building trust is always easier said than done. Also, you should always build in trust with them no matter you are working with international clients or not. What's more, when there is discrepancy between different cultures, working attitude may be different.Hence, the main concern should be how to break the differences when working with different countries partners.

To sum up,I think the author can provide more specific suggestion to deal with culture differences for the reader and elaborate more for each point. Then reader can have a clear and full picture of it.

  7. United Nations is a very good name. I like it!! Just like United States, the world is become smaller and smaller due to the improvement of technology. We can share our feeling and our mind in the internet by blogging, wiki and other networking tools. It shortened the distance among people. We are never alone as you can talk with different people on the internet which removed the geographical boundary.

In this blog, it raised a good point that communication can improve marketing and sales. Actually, communication, marketing and sales are indivisible as you need to communicate with your target customer about the advantages and value of your products or services. Nowadays, by the internet, we can access people all over the world with different cultures. Thus, intercultural communication would be more and more important as internet would be one of the essential channels for marketing.

But, I found that this blog look like a summary of the Cindy King’s blog. I think you should do more analysis on her blog but not only abstract the content from it. You may add some new ideas and your view on your blog to make it be “YOUR” property. Anyway, the overall of this blog is quite good and the content is quite comprehensive. I am looking to seeing your better blog next time.
